2005-01-27: the Town Crier printed the incorrect School Committee letter Please note that the Town Crier printed the incorrect letter from the School Committee in today's paper (1/27). The School Committee had submitted two letters to the paper, one in the event that the ballot question was approved on Tuesday 1/25 and the other in the event that the ballot question was NOT approved. The correct letter is as follows. The School Committee respects Wayland residents for their vote Tuesday that did not approve the debt exemption for the detailed design phase of the high school modernization and expansion effort. Despite that result, please consider attending tonight's Special Town Meeting to vote against Article 2, which proposes to freeze future action and jeopardize state reimbursement. We appreciate that the decision may not have been easy for town residents. That said, our committee pledges to move forward at a later date in a manner that is both educationally and financially sound. |
