Regular Session June 27, 2011
A Regular Session of the Wayland School
Committee was held on Monday, June 27, 2011, at 7:00 P.M. in the School
Committee Room of the Wayland Town Building.
Present were:

Chair Barb Fletcher convened the regular
meeting at 7:07 P.M. to hear and react to the Operational Review
Committee Report. A quorum of members from the Finance Committee and
Selectmen were also present and each Committee called a meeting to
order.
1. The Operations Review Committee’s Report re: Part I of the Abrahams Group Report:
Rebecca Chasen reviewed the findings from the Operational Review
Committee (ORC). The ORC answered questions posed by the School
Committee and board members.
2. Comments & Written Statements from the Public:
George Harris commented on the role of the Finance Committee in
the budget process and how the ORC recommendations reconcile.
Heather Pineault expressed concern for the
school building administrators and department heads as they pick up the
burden of inputting Munis.
3. Update re: Wayland Energy Initiative:
Fred Turkington updated the three committees on the progress of the Wayland Energy Initiative.
Chair Barb Fletcher welcomed the new Superintendent Paul Stein.
4. Comments from the Public:
Tom Sciacca welcomed Dr. Paul Stein and commented on the
presentation by Aidan McCann last week. He would like a culture of
innovation to become the norm in Wayland.
5. Adjournment:
Upon a motion duly made by Dr. Kinney, seconded by Dr. Astley, the
School Committee voted unanimously (5-0) to adjourn the Regular
Session at 8:05 P.M.
