BASE Enrollment and Waitlist Information

Before/After School Extension (BASE)

As we expected, the need for after-school childcare has increased by about 30% for the 2019-20 school year.  We have substantially expanded our new and returning staff so we will be able to enroll a significant number of the April Intent to Register applicants.  Unfortunately, the hiring process is not complete so we anticipate carrying a waitlist at least through the summer.

Enrollment confirmations and waitlist notifications will be emailed to families by Friday, June 14. Enrollment confirmations will include instructions on how to access the FamilyID system and complete the registration process.  These completed registrations will need to be as accurate as possible in terms of school, days and time so that we have a true picture of enrollment at each site.  If families need fewer BASE days or hours than they requested in April, we may be able to enroll more students from the waitlist.

If you receive a waitlist designation, your place on the waitlist will be determined by the Intent to Register form you submitted in April, which was time-and-date-stamped. Others joining the waitlist after May 1 will fill in below you.  To create openings for families on the waitlist, we will continue to recruit staff through the summer.  When openings are available, families will be notified by email offered placements at their school based on the order in which their Intent to Register forms were received.  Even if the spot does not exactly meet the schedule requested on the Intent form, families will be offered what is available.  If a family is unable to accept the schedule offered, they will retain their spot on the waitlist and the available opening will be offered to the next family on the waitlist.

Should your family’s needs change and you are no longer interested in BASE enrollment, please email to let her know that you no longer need to be on the waitlist.

At this time we cannot guarantee that we will be able to offer spots in BASE to everyone on the waitlist by August.  If you need to secure childcare from another source, you might consider Longfellow After School Care in Wayland.  That program currently has 10-month openings for the 2019-20 school year, and enrolls children in Grades K-5. Longfellow’s program provides transportation from each Wayland elementary school.
