For twelve years, Chinese Language & Culture has been offered to Wayland students. The program is designed for students whose primary language is English. Children are placed in classes based on their skill level. Children gain listening and speaking skills in Chinese through songs, rhymes and poems, role-playing, games, and other fun activities.

Beehive Art Mixed Media Workshop, Grades Kindergarten - 3

 Beehive

Always a popular program for K - 3 students at Loker School, Beehive Art will return this fall for another series of after-school Mixed Media Workshops. Children experiment with a wide range of colorful mediums and techniques. They explore book and printmaking, construct sculptures and mobiles, design spin art, and make miniatures and toys.  The instructor is Kim Poler, owner of Beehive Art Studio in Wayland.

Beehive ART Mixed Media Workshop   Kindergarten - Grade 3

Kindergarten through Grade 3 artists at Claypit Hill School enjoy Beehive Art Mixed Media Workshop, and sessions fill quickly.  Beehive Art has a studio in Wayland on Route 126, but conveniently for Wayland school children, owner Kim Poler brings her programs into the schools for after-school activities.

The goal is to introduce these concepts at an early age through enjoyable and fun activities that incorporate STEM concepts into play or everyday activities.  Children explore with LEGO Bricks, Kapla blocks, K'nex education sets, Snap Circuits, and other STEM toys. The key notion is that children learn best when they are having fun.
