Wayland METCO plans events have several goals; bring students and families from our two communities together, provide cultural experiences that reflect our world; and encourage understanding in a racially divided world.


Friday, January 19, 2018, 6-9pm
The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Dinner and Program
All are welcome to join the celebration of the meaning of Dr. King's life work. This event shares a meal, a program, a craft and a silent auction. The Dr. King Dinner is celebrating its own 30th year anniversary. This event began as a potluck and now features various chicken dishes, rice and peas/beans and leafy salad for a nominal cost. You bring the potluck dessert!

Wayland alumnae (Boston and Wayland resident), staff (former and current), families (former and current) and supporters are welcomed to a special open house. See the new Wayland High School! Meet old friends.

The Florence Adler 5k Race/Walk
The Florence Adler 5k offers a race/walk through leafy suburban streets on a beautiful spring weather morning. Join us for bagels and coffee, light lunch, venders for Mother's Day gifts and includes plant craft (small fee).

The Annual Back to School Family Cookout
In September, 2017, we enjoyed the cookout at Happy Hollow School. A craft, an animal show, games like tug-of-war and 3-legged/bag races, a photo booth were enjoyed as we shared a grilled lunch. The principal put out a sprinkler which was enjoyed by many during this hot Fall day.
Information for the Fall, 2018 Cookout will be available closer to the date.

Every year the School Committee holds a School Committee meeting in Boston in the Fall. This years meeting has taken place. The date for next year, TBA.
