BASE - An Overview of School-Year Programs for K - 8 Students
Kindergarten BASE Explorers/Extended Day BASE Explorers is an Extended Day program, which begins when traditional/half day Kindergarten ends. It continues until the end of the regular school day when children are dismissed. Explorers enjoy enrichment activities, outdoor play, and free play providing socialization opportunities.
Grades K - 3 After-School held in the child's home school To ensure a spot for your child, please enroll as soon as possible. We always maintain a wait list and notify families when openings are available. There is a two-day minimum, and no drop-ins are allowed in the after-school programs.
Wayland Middle School (Grades 4 - 8) After-School The program offers sports and games, arts and crafts, sewing, community service, cooking, walking trips in the neighborhood, and scheduled homework time. Fourth and fifth graders attend the BASE middle school program and their program includes activities specifically designed for their age group; a Wayland Public School bus provides transportation.
Community Education and Global Languages
Art, Chinese Language and Culture, French and Spanish, and drama are among the enrichment programs WSCP brings to Wayland's children. Classes change throughout the year. Offerings vary by school and time of year and are publicized through school newsletters and e-blasts. Information and registration links are on the WSCP Community Education page.
