BASE Registration Information


The BASE registration process begins each April for the following school year.  Enrollment capacity is based on staffing availability at each site.  The need for BASE services typically exceeds its capacity, so annual wait lists are managed for each site.

Current, Returning BASE Families
Current, returning BASE families complete an on-line Schedule Preference form during a designated time frame (typically early April).  The link is only accessible during the specified time frame to current BASE families.  These current BASE families may also submit schedule information for rising kindergarten siblings during this time frame.

Scheduling information is aggregated at the end of the designated time frame and slots are assigned by school and by schedule, to serve the maximum capacity of students at each site.  Enrollments are confirmed in early May and on-line registrations and fee payments must be completed through Family ID by mid-May.
Enrollments that are confirmed but not registered by the deadline will be forfeited and confirmations will be cancelled.

New Family BASE Lottery
Occasionally attrition, schedule changes, cancellations, or enrollment forfeitures of returning families, can free up slots at BASE sites.  Families that did not participate in BASE the previous year, families that were on the wait list, and new families interested in BASE may apply for potential enrollment in these limited slots through a New Family Lottery in May. 

Incoming kindergarten families are provided with necessary New Family Lottery information via email, and All School News carries the same information, dates, and the link prior to the opening of the lottery.  The link is only accessible during the designated time frame.

Each family lottery application is coded and entered into a double-blind randomization process for each BASE site.  Each family, regardless of the number of children, is given one position in the lottery.  Available slots are filled according to the randomized lottery position, giving each family an equal chance of securing a spot when need exceeds capacity.

Lottery families with confirmed enrollment must complete on-line registrations and fee payments through Family ID by a designated deadline.  Enrollments that are confirmed but not registered by the deadline will be forfeited and confirmations will be cancelled.  Decline and forfeited enrollments will be offered to the next family in the lottery list.

Families that are not enrolled from the lottery are placed on the wait list by site, in their randomized position in the lottery.

BASE Wait list
Families requesting BASE services after the spring enrollment season, can be placed on the BASE Waitlist by completing the Waitlist Request form through Family ID.  Any requests received after May, are placed below waitlisted families from the Lottery lists, in the order in which they are received.

Families are contacted in waitlist order if BASE slots become available.  If there is minimal enrollment from the waitlist, it may be closed to additional requests as early as October.  It is unfair to join a waitlist with no reasonable chance of enrollment.  

Wait list status applies to the current school year only and does not afford any preferential enrollment opportunities for the next school year.
