Teaching and Learning

In her role as Assistant Superintendent, Betsy Gavron focuses on teaching, learning, and assessment on behalf of the students of Wayland Public Schools. She is dedicated to fostering a dynamic and inclusive educational environment that supports the intellectual, social, and emotional growth of every student from kindergarten through twelfth grade. She collaborates with teachers and leaders with a commitment to excellence, equity, and innovation, so each learner reaches their full potential and becomes a responsible, compassionate, and engaged global citizen.

Betsy’s responsibilities allow her to:

  • Collaborate with the Superintendent and leadership team to implement strategic initiatives aligned with our District goals.

  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality educational programs that promote academic achievement and critical thinking.

  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across the District.

  • Promote innovation in teaching and learning methodologies.

  • Oversee professional development programming for educators and staff.

  • Foster positive community relationships and engagement.

  • Assist with budgetary decisions in alignment with educational priorities.

  • Oversee acquisition and distribution of Federal, State and Local grants.

  • Implement district policies and guidelines effectively.
